iNaturalist apparently recognises Paliga aureolalis as a synonym of Paratalanta aureolalis which iNaturalist shows only as having a North Queensland distribution. Other similar looking species have the generic name Paliga which iNaturalist also calls Ecpyrrhorrhoe ie. 'Ecpyrrhorrhoe(Paliga)'. Another looking similar species seems to be Ecpyrrhorrhoe celatalis which is shown to have an occurrence (iNaturalist) in SE Queensland which would correspond with this observation, see https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/1438766-Ecpyrrhorrhoe-celatalis. However the ALA also shows Paliga celatalis occuring in Taiwan not Australia. See also Paliga rubicundalis (ALA) again occurring in SE Quenslands https://bie.ala.org.au/species/https://biodiversity.org.au/afd/taxa/b34d7031-d136-4f35-a1d4-0cfe9b10950f The AFD recognises Paliga (genus) but not Ecpyrrhorrhoe (genus). Its a confusing picture, but 'Paliga (genus)' or Paliga rubicundalis may be the best option for now.
While I am not what species my specimen is, Paliga rubicundalis is now a synonym of Ecpyrrhorrhoe rufipicta (Butler, 1881) based on; Xiang, L., K. Chen, X. Chen, Y. Duan & D. Zhang 2022: A revision of the genus Ecpyrrhorrhoe Hübner, 1825 from China based on morphology and molecular data, with descriptions of five new species (Lepidoptera, Crambidae, Pyraustinae). – ZooKeys 1090: 1–44. While not in the Australian Faunal Directory it is accepted as such by the globiz.pyraloidea.org site
