An awesome sighting yet again TimL and it shows the power of citizen science and a tool like NatureMapr to record these things. We are hoping to get more moderators in your area to identify more of your sightings.

That is nuts @TimL - you are exactly right. This ant could be carrying an extremely important and/or invasive mite that gets completely missed but only becomes visible once you zoom and in take note at this kind of scale. Fascinating. Thanks for all your effort @TimL - CC @MatthewFrawley

Hi @AaronClausen Thought this might interest you. Something as insignificant as reporting an ant sighting might not seem that important to people considering contributing to NatureMapr's database, but to me, this sighting illustrates why every sighting has its place. This is an insignificant ant that has what appears to be a White Slug Mite attached. The sighting extends the range of White Slug Mite records on NatureMapr and also the types of recorded unwitting hosts. Hope this helps. Tim
