Additional close-up detail for previous sighting 4517662 to help with identification. The third image shows details behind the dragonfly’s head including the light-coloured, circular anterior thoracic spiracle valve which has a fold across it. The closed valve is located behind the head structure in the centre of the image. I understand this valve is part of the dragonfly’s respiratory system that provides oxygen for its head and its wing muscles. The fourth image provides close-up detail of the complex external structure that operates the dragonfly’s wings.
