Yes, looks like Stathmopoda genus to me too. Similar to S. aurifella but I'm not sure its that species. There are a large number of named Australian species.
Yes i see the AFD treatment of Stathmopodidae. We in Canberra on CNM have categorised it is as a family within the superfamily Gelechioidae while reserving Oecophoridae as a distinct family apart from the rest of the superfamily Gelechioidae, This seems to the practice on the ALA as well.
Yes ALA seems to closely follow the AFD. ALso Stathmopoda auriferella is not listed in either. Stathmopoda crocophanes is listed however, Park et al, 2018 (Genus Stathmopoda from the Korean Peninsula) lists Stathmopoda crocophanes as a synonym of Stathmopoda auriferella and probably others. This is followed by iNaturalist. S. auriferella is imaged in McQuillan, 2019 (Caterpillars, Moths and Their Plants) and S. crocophanes is imaged in Cocking, 2022 (Moths in the ACT) there are differences. Walker's description of auriferella from Sierra Leone, does not mention the line from the base of the costa to the mid inner margin near the start of the dark banding. While my image looks close to McQuillan's and as Ian points out there is a large number of named species, mostly unimaged, probably best left as Stathmopoda genus
