Additional close-up detail for sighting 4485848 to help with identification. The various images provide details of the antennae, underside and body and also appear to show that the head of this beetle has evolved over time. The head appears to have flattening out and caused the base of each antenna to move into and across the compound eye structure. This has almost reached the point of separating each compound eye into two separate parts.
