Hi Con, I see no reason why Alison's suggested solution wouldn't work, but if it does not I suggest you send a message to MichaelBedingfield to ask him if he can resolve the issue for you. Rgds, ian Baird

Hi Con, I wouldn't worry about trying to enter the lat long data. Don't know about the tech aspects the hows and whys of of what works or not, but I suggest just clicking on the map and zooming in to the correct location, then clicking on this location on the map. I've given up on what happens in the background but this does put my sightings at the right locations. Perhaps give me your email address and I can send you some screen shots if this is still unclear.

Hi Alison
I am not sure about the other issues. The problem I have is that when I use a flash, my camera does not have a GPS in the slot and there is no internal GPS. This effectively means that my flash moth shots at 1 Ridley Street do not have lat longs in the metadata. The workaround is to enter the location manually. The 1 Ridley Street Turner is in the look up table for manual entry of lat long. This address used to have the correct lat long attached to it. The process of entering the map location was easy and it was straight forward. But the lat long numbers that are now attacked to the 1 Ridley St Turner look up table have been changed. The current lat longs are actually the lat longs for 1 Ridley Street in Blairgowrie. Somehow or other the inccorect lat longs have been attached to 1 Ridley Street Turner. I don't think I have permission to go into the site and restore the correct lat longs to the 1 Ridley Street Turner address in the manual entry section.

Hi Con, This is a known error and may be as much a problem with the camera as with the CNM platform. I've been told that some sightings have been placed way out int he Pacific Ocean. One theory is how many satelittes your phone or camera connect to. By editing the map location, you are not going to correct lat and long info only put the sighting at the right location. One example I had was I took a photo of insects at a small park in Higgins. Putting the sighting up on CNM the system put the sighting at the ANBG. However, when I edited and typed in the lat and long recorded by my camera's metadata, this put the sighting way out in the opposite direction at Hall. So don't ask me to explain why this happens. I now just zoom in on the map and pinpoint the actual location and don't worry about what the data behind the scenes show.

Hi Alison
The original setting was 1 Ridley St with the correct lat and long.
What happens now when I click on 1 Ridley St is that an incorrect map location comes up. It is not always the same incorrect map location.
How do I edit it so that when I click on 1 Ridley St the correct lat and long comes back up? And will this retrofit? I have discovered that this error has been going for some time.
